To reverse the trend of deforestation
Key figures
17 years of international expertise
Since its creation, Kinomé’s goal has been to reverse the trend of global deforestation which is the result of a global economic and development system.
The deforestation of tropical forests represented more than 90% of the world’s deforestation between 2000 and 2018. Our on-the-ground presence has been critical to be able to drive strategic projects with international actors that are a solution to this deforestation.
Our 4 activities deployed internationally:
thesis on climate in the Great Green Wall countries, thesis on human-wildlife conflicts in Uganda. We co-supervise applied research in the South, with teams of researchers and practitioners from the South and the North.
we work with public institutions and private actors to help decision-makers (governments, companies, NGOs and international organizations) design and implement strategies with high positive impact for humans and forests.
We drive and coordinate field initiatives that we believe are particularly innovative and have the potential to systemic change. For example, we federate and co-create a group of stakeholders who work on sustainably protect and enhance mangroves in West Africa. We also work to the scaling up of production and dissemination of moringa leaves particularly beneficial to children health.
