Malnutrition has indeed been reduced in the last 30 years. Still, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization, it has been increasing again since 2014, more specifically in Africa, where more than 21% of the population in 2018 is undernourished. On the global scale, obesity has more than doubled between 1980 and 2016 to reach 672 million people in 2017 (a number that is close to the undernourished people’s one, 821 million in 2017). In several African countries, there are as many undernourished people as overweight people.
